I have a literature question for you. Tomorrow I will buy a new book and was thinking to buy Rauðbrystingur of Jo Nesbø I think the book is Redbreast in english or Aska of Yrsa Sigurðardóttir in english is Ashes To Dust. Have anyone read either of them or both?
I read Yrsas book Sér grefur gröf or My Soul ToTake and did not enjoy it like Þriðja táknið (Last Rituals) as the main character became silly. I have no knowledge of Jo Nesbø who is Norweg.

Ak, how about Henning Mankell, his books are good. The Sveriges Television versions of the Wallender mysteries are so much better than the BBC as Rolf Lassgård is more believable than Kenneth Branagh. A bit like Robert Carlisle as Hamish MacBeth - good story but thoroughly unbelievable.

Is it true that after his "success" in Invictus Matt Damon is to play Heidar Helguson in a remake of Yesterday's Hero?

Mrs C thinks Jo Nesbø is a great author. She read the Snowman first but is now part way through the Redbreast. Loving them but they are a bit scary, she says. I'd ask her more but she's out at the moment (with book I should add!). She would also say that the comparisons with Stieg Larsson are unfair on both of them. Though they are in same genre, the styles are different - both good, nay excellent.

Alas I can't read either until she's finished because she says I should read Redbreast first. And I think she's a pretty good literary judge.

Enjoy. And if you bought Ashes to Dust, post up a review on here. Then we can claim not only leadership in posts but in quality. Where else would you get reviews of Scandinavian literature???

Have never heard of Aska of Yrsa, but would recommend Jo Nesbo. I've read and thoroughly enjoyed The Snowman - and have The Devil's Star on top of my 'unread books' pile waiting for me to finish The Bourne Objective. Agree with zen - Henning Mankell is well worth a look - his Wallander series is excellent.
 
Dan Brown is a good easy read - have any of you read Conn Iggulden - either the Emperor series (Rome) or the *****ls - great reads
 
Not the best of games but little ms C had a good time. Nice for her to see a comfortable victory, particularly as we're not at home until next month :(

looks like I need an away pass for Coventry.

If we can beat the Tractor Boys then the play offs lurk.

Still waiting on the bigger news of the day, which book did Ak choose??
