Bring on the Sheffield game, hoping for a good atmosphere tomorrow and plenty of goals from the home side.

We had some Jehovah's Witnesses here the other day - the revel in these "signs of the last times"

I am not anti the JW's by the way but they have always used natural disasters as "signs of the times"

I asked Ak in a joke he other day what he was smoking - don't think he understood my weird sense of humour and answered me quite seriously that he does not smoke - but now it is clear - it was his volcano :)

Do not respond to this I am testing an idea.

The Match Thread

Watford v Sheffield United

The Hornets play host to the Blades. And the 12th team plays the 23rd.
Watford

• The Manager - Malky Mackay
"There's no hiding place in this division but that's fine, because this group wants to be in the firing line all the time, trying to rise to the next challenge we thrust upon them."
"There was a lot of hard work went into that performance tonight; from the staff beforehand in preparation and then the players in putting themselves on the line in terms of both the physical and mental challenges you face with two games in a short space of time."

• The Hornets
With nobody in the naughty corner the only worries are the injured. Lloyd Doyley Danny Drinkwater Michael Bryan and Stephen McGinn with his ligament damage are the absentees.

• The Fan - craigramage1
"Everyone of the 150 fans there yesterday would have clapped the team had it finished 1-0 (which looked likely). Their performance had already warranted that, but then the team decide to give this loyal 150, all the reasons rolled into one answering why they had all made the trip. ."

Sheffield United

• The Manager - Micky Adams
"Winning was a massive mental barrier we needed to break down but we have to use it as a springboard to go to Watford on Saturday with a bit more confidence in ourselves and pick up more wins, because avoiding relegation would be a huge achievement."
"If we continue to work as hard as we did on Tuesday and pick up more confidence we can take things on from there, but I have never doubted the work ethic of this group of players - there is a fantastic spirit in the camp."

• The Blades
The only player missing is former Hornet Darius Henderson.

• The Fan - woodwardfan
"The joy of winning! I had forgotten the feeling just like
Adams had. With so many defeats my mind must have gone into denial as I weathered one defeat after another with sensible, philosophical reasoning, sort of a numb feeling. Then comes along last night and when the second goal went in WOOSH; absolute delight, uncontrolled hysteria, arms aloft, jumping up and down on the spot - along with about 17000 others - that's what it means to us."

Update on the Blades' latest statistics
Who will win?

Current form
Watfords current form of one defeat in the last six matches is good until you see they have one win also. The Blades have one win as well but they have lost four and have not won outside
Sheffield since November. The Blades win on Tuesday will be a big boost for their confidence.

Akureyri's Prediction: 3-0
United are moving to the same desparate position their city rivals Wednesday found themselves with last season. For all their work they will return to the
SteelCity with nothing.

There is a history
The last match: Blades 0 - Hornets 1: Marvin Sordells goal at 16.min was enough to separate the two teams in a very even game.

Further into the past: Sheffield United and
Watford have a long history of trading players but when you look at the matches in Sheffield there are only 21. The Blades have won nine and the Hornets five with a total of 55 goals scored between them, Sheffield having 34 of these. The teams first met in 1960 when United won a cup match 3-2. The first league game in Sheffield was a 1-1 draw at Christmas 1969. The Blades best wins were 4-0 in the League Cup in 1997 and 4-1 in the league in 1990.

On My Radio If you cannot get to the game, BBC Radio 5live and BBC Radio Sheffield will cover the game.

Travellers may want some information about
Watford.

Last week there was an amazing similarity between Watfords result and Chateauroux.

So tonight I have been keeping a close watch on what is going on at the Stade Auguste Delaune, home of Reims.

The home side scored after 10 mins through Odair Fortes, with Kevin Dupuis equalizing for Chateauroux after 34 mins.

Half time at the moment. Pate sandwiches and vin rouge should help them through the second half. ;)

Working on your theory Frenchie , my NZ rugby team won today , Canadian ice hockey team won (will forget england cricket team) So hopefully looking good for tomorrow:)
