that means john eustace is suspended next game ! not only a knackered defence we are running out of midfielders as well:(
tis a good point though! bottom 3 all lost so 15 points above bottom 3!

With the aid of a box of match sticks I have come up with the following statistic. Should each of the bottom three teams get an average of a point a game from now on, something they have not managed to do so far, then the end of season table would be like this.

Scunthorpe 45 pts
Sheffield U. 41 pts
Preston 36 pts

As we still have to play Sheffield and Preston I reckon we will be safe. ;)

So ninth game of the twelve in the Championship and less than 50 seconds of action on the Football League Show. Why did I bother?

JE's sending off was a bit dubious.

Only trouble is OFH that as the season gets near the end teams at the bottom often focus more and so get a higher return while mid table teasm thinking they are safe can drop - my reckoning would be to allow 1.5 points per game which still leaves Sheffield and Preston on 47 and 44 but would give Scunthorpe 52. HOwever you look at it though half a point per game should be enough to guarantee our safety

I agree Leo, I just looked at the table and thought that they would really struggle as they were so far behind now. There has to be a point when a club will think that it is time to prepare for life next season in a lower league.

I must be careful how I use these posts up, cannot think about the senior thing at my age. ;)

I Stated here or on 606 a few days back that I think 48 points will be enough ,if correct 2 more points required (plus 2 more)asa safety factor !! would be nice ! we should be able to gather 4 points in a dozen games!!(I hope)!
I was hoping to get to safety and then blood more youngsters and build for next season , I think that may happen now due to injuries ,suspension etc! Young Thompson seems to be a find ! So after the kids have there midweek game against chelsea , it may be worth promoting a couple for the millwall game!

Thought there were a couple of RAF-types around who could confirm the accuracy of this:

Always love to see the Arses lose - especially like to see Wenger beaten. Very pleased for Foster - we taught him well :)

Also am always pleased to see the Scots lose at anything - just my bias I'm afraid

I don't know if my daughter is trying to say something, but she sent me this e-mail. :emoticon-0106-cryin
