Congrats all round then - is he or she now off to UNI this autumn?
His mum wondered where he was but asks if you can look after him for a little bit longer. She needs to get her hair done.
Just out of interest do Watford fans ever come on to your board complaining about some of the idiots purporting to be leicester City fans that post garbage on here? If they do i'd be as contemptuous to them as i will be to you.This is a faceless anonymous football forum - If you don't like him ban him instead of coming on here like a little school girl moaning about it.

Cue the hordes of fans from other teams moaning that we're using our management structure and Mr Stark's current employment to get celebrity supporters unfairly.
jerzeypie got his AS results today. Results not what were needed - he has had to drop a subject as a result and is down to 3 but he was thinking of dropping it anyway. Hopefully, it means that he can devote more time to those he is doing, show a marked improvement at the start of term before the teachers make their predictions to put with his Uni applications.
Am I the only one who thinks beating Scotland is nearly as good as beating Australia at Cricket? Or are we just being quiet and smug. We still beat em and played crap.

Defintiely not - I'd rather beat Scotland at football, and the Welsh at rugby, than anyone else. I don't care about how good they are or not - from early in my childhood i've viewed them as the arch enemy (in a sporting sense I hasten to add!)
I enjoyed the victory, although not so much the performance. All the more pleasurable as the GF is Scottish. Not that she was overly bothered - took her 5 minutes to realise they had scored, and not sure she looked up at the TV for the rest of the match!
A victory over Scotland is always a good victory. In football and rugby we are their 'cup final' so will always raise their performance. If only they could do that every game, they might have a chance of qualifying for a footy tournament!

Whilst the result against the Old Enemy was good, the game was dire - I spent most of the second half in the bar! Lot's of empty seats yesterday but a good turn out from The Tarten Army, many in skirts! But not so many in the pub after the game...Still was a good day out with an old Watford mate who struggles to get to Watford games at the moment
What about the England performance in the wider perspective? - it confirmed to me whilst watching, that our best chance of tournament progression in the near future against the likes of Spain, Brazil, Netherlands, Argentina, Italy, France and several other more technically gifted teams (and there are now many) will be with an 'old fashioned' target man like Lambert combined with the pace of someone like Walcott ... we certainly are not going to out pass and move such teams in the forseeable future (althouh I do want to see us bringing through more technically gifted players ASAP).
Lambert's header yesterday, from a quality ball in, would have been very difficult for any of the above teams to defend against - for me I can't really see how else we can progress to the latter stages of tournaments in the next 2 to 4 years if we don't start mixing it up a bit and playing to what 'strengths' we actually have.

I agree with a lot you say. We certainly cannot compete with the more-technical sides if we try and macth their game. We do almost need to bully them but can't see why we can't use pace against them as well. Use the likes of Walcott on the counter, but also utilise a Lambert/Carroll up front.
At least these guys will give their all for England, unlike some of the players these days. That what was frustrating when Hodgsono was complaining we were running out of players - we have players, we just don't at the 'big' clubs! Give players who on form a go, not the same old 'names'. Problem is it does seem a lot of players go on international duty hoping not to get injured for when they go back to their club!
We are light years behind Spain and Germany. Brazil will always have techncial players. Unfortunately England aren't going to change while you only have the odd set up that encourages skill over efficiency. They are going in the right direction with smaller pitches and a smaller numbers (ie 7v7 etc). But they need to go further. They need to pump money into coaching. Produce more coaches, and get them to play passing football. Discourage keeping scores until a certain age. Might be bad for kids but I'd use a heavier ball so it doesn't go over waist height (or just make that a rule). I'd also ban parents from watching until a certain age too, which immediately gets rid of that pressure! Premiership money needs to be directed to grass roots....

There were plenty of posts on here from Leicester fans calling us cheats and Watfraud etc.
I recollect that there were as least as many congratulating you and conceding that you were the better team ... not only in the play-off games but over the season...
I don't think you'll find too much argument on here about that, especially from the 'older' members who were around for Graham Taylor's first stint here. GT's methods were just that - playing to the strengths of what players he had available. Quality balls in from Barnes & Callaghan being converted by Blissett and Jenkins. The key words you use are 'mixing it up a bit' - these days often referred to as 'having a Plan B' - without that there would be two extra & often overlooked hurdles for Hodgson to overcome. The media simply wouldn't like it - as GT found out - and would whip up mass hysteria, placing undue pressure on the team. Strangely the media incorrectly labelled GT & Watford as 'long ball merchants', causing the ruination of English football, setting the English game back 20 years - then as now, they simply never did their homework and failed to understand what was going on.... The second hurdle would be the players themselves - GT found some difficulty handling players who thought his methods were beneath them.
But you're right - there would be nothing wrong with bolstering the guile of the few who have have it with the aerial power of a Lambert, a Carroll (remember his goal against Sweden) or, heck, even a Crouch. And in a year or so, a Troy Deeney....
