What are your travel plans for the year?

I normally go abroad at least two or three times a year, but I'm now inclined to keep my money at home. So, over the next 6-9 months, I shall be touring our beautiful British Isles, from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, Brighton to Bodmin, and Dumfriesshire to Denbigh.

Hurrah for the Great British holiday! :emoticon-0182-poolp

Going to Valencia in May to see my Brother. Isle of Wight in September. York and Scarborough in August. I am still thinking of buying a property in Scarborough. Been looking at some two bedroom apartments overlooking the sea. I will probably also visit my relatives in Malta, sometime this year. If there is no new owner by next Season I will not be visiting SE7.

The Scarborough property is a fine idea. The views from up high are simply exquisite. Am I right in thinking the local railway network is due to be upgraded in the near future? The town needs and deserves regeneration, so long as it doesn't dilute the distinctly English seaside vibe.

I am a big of Alan Ayckbourn and have seen many Plays at the Stephen Joseph theatre. It is a great venue and presents Theatre in the round. My friend has got a flat in Scarborough overlooking the Sea on the Esplanade. The town needs regeneration but I love the old English Seaside vibe. Also you can pick up a reasonable two bedroom flat for £200000.00. Locals are really friendly. I would still keep my House here, but it would be good to get away to the seaside. Only 3 hours on the Virgin Train.

My mate (his Mrs is a Charlton ST holder) has a large house on the seafront at Seasalter (just outside Whitstable) he can walk out of his front door onto the beach in about 30 seconds. He loves it down there.
Whitstable is very nice. I'd love to have a weekend retreat down there.

It would of course not be so grand as my place in Brasil. Prices there are a tad cheaper.

Scarborough is dirt cheap DP.

A pal of mine goes up there every summer for the superb cricket festival - you can stay in a B&B up there for £20 a night.
