Unfortunately I only get to a couple of games a season, my last was against hull and what a crock of **** that was, even after being gifted the early start.
I feel utterly deflated by the last couple of results but it's typical sunderland.
I take my hat off to all you top fans who will follow sunderland till the end of time, and I just know despite my hurting I will be behind the team again next week no matter how much it might hurt, just hoping for a change of fortune.
Anyway, back to Gus. I don't think we should get rid and I hope he stays to see out his plan for the future. Who else is available and on another note, who would want to come to sunderland?
As much as it pains me, our rivals over the water have more of a pull than us.
I know I'll be back next week wanting more but expecting the same.

Its not just today mate, its all season.

But if you want to concentrate on today then:

Tried to play passing football on a s**t pitch.
Played too defensively.
Played Bridcutt
Didn't play his strongest team.
Wrong formation.
Didn't change his tactics when it was clear they were not working.
Dodgy subs.

Over the season:

Blamed supporters.
Played wrong tactics
Too defensively
Played Bridcutt and Gomez
Picked wrong players.
Wrong subs.
Reluctant to bring youth into the first team (they played a lot better during pre-season than the first team)

Do you think he is doing a good job then??

"Somebody thinks for a minute that the players did not try their best, but they adapted to the pitch and went for it. They needed that bit of luck. The referee had a clear view of the penalty [on Steven Fletcher] and didn't give it. Unfortunately, Kevin Friend again did not give us what we deserved and it became a tough task from then.

"Credit to Bradford, they know how to play these games. It is not humiliating, it is what the cup brings into the equation. If the top teams always beat the smaller teams, then the cup would not exist.

"I have no problems [with the angry chants from Sunderland fans], I get on with my life. It is normal, I am responsible. I have no issue with the fans. I never hide and at the end of the day I am the one who will pay the price because the one who can get sacked is me."

He's saying we need a bit of luck to beat a league 1 team...

No Gus. We need to play like a premier league team. Not depend on a penalty shout and "that bit of luck".

I'm suggesting it would be worth talking to him. I don't know the bloke personally so his lifestyle, ambition, interests are beyond me.

If you know a little more because you play bridge with his grandma or something please fill us in.

How did Chelsea do against that league 1 team?? They were always coming into this confident after the last round and we were always on the back foot. THEY needed luck to take the lead. We neede the rules adhering to to equalise. They deserved both wins. Us and Chelsea deserved nothing. My only issue is that there is no one who will come here and wears on another manager merry go round.
 
What I think, looking at the last few appointments, they've been very similar of stature.

Bruce, MON, Poyet, gaffers who have shown signs of promise but achieved very little in reality.

Lets ****ing go for it here, de Boer has said he will leave Ajax, go try for him now, they'd likely let him leave as they have gone to **** and PSV are romping away from them.

Or, try for a genuinely brilliant, proven coach, Marcelo Bielsa from Marseille, someone like that. Short, as a self made multi-billionaire, you'd think by now he'd have applied his business nous to football.

If you want to compete you need the best management possible, this applies to football, to business, to general life.

Might cost £5-6million a year or more, but look at the money in this new TV deal.

They're about to win the premier league so they'll probably forgive their manager, one of the best in the world, for the blip.

Our whole season is a blip.

Better to be overly ambitious and be told no than to higher another failure.

We need a manager bigger than the club at this point. Not a manager on his way up.

To Mr Poyet, thank you for the Newcastle results, but you have now lost the fans, the team and any credibility, time for the door methinks!

If Southampton can attract Koeman then we surely have a chance getting De boer in.
I'm now firmly in the Gus out camp. Duck him he's clueless.

Look the players are no where near good enough. Di canio was right. The core of the group have seen off 3-4 managers. Our time is up. Short has not invested in the team properly and now we have this shower of ****e. Larrson was our best player today and he was garbage. I feel we are destined for relegation
