Seems to be an open secret that there are negotiations going on. Rick broke ranks when he said it could happen "By the end of next week" about 4 or 5 weeks ago, causing a flurry of excitement. Fortunately we've got SuperC on this forum to keep us in touch with reality.
I guess Roland hopes to get back into the Championship this season without spending any money, even selling Konsa, then sell up, leaving the new owner to spend the necessary amount to compete. A hell of a gamble, and it means we're stuck with Roland for the season.
Agreed FHB, looks like he's here to stay at least until summer 2018. Of course if we don't gain promotion we will be stuck with him for life, as he will have ploughed in another £7m by that time in running costs alone (which even selling Konsa will not compensate for). Nobody is going to pay £50m for a broken down League One club with a nearly empty stadium. So we had better pray that A) Charlton do win promotion this season - probably the best chance we will have for many a year. B) RD then gets the price he wants - or under his witless regime we will surely come crashing back down again.

Any businessman will always have a metaphorical ‘for sale’ sign out but it doesn’t mean its for sale. The owner is only a steward of the club and will sell when he or his Executors/Attorneys are ready be it in one day or 20 years time. Jonkool & fans with his amoeba-sized intellect are part of the problem. Not in a rush for RD to sell...did he even clock the attendance last night?
The apologists know that once Duchatelet does sell they will have to defend all the stuff that is going to come out about what the RD regime has done to the Club. 6,000 fans at the Valley for a League match is only the tip of that iceberg. The less extreme ones will know the rooster is about to crow and they'll deny they were ever in with RD and his grinning muse - that's when it may be fun to remind them who attended the love-in meeting with KM. Only two or three of the most deranged and/or stupid apologists will cling to their loyalty, and so become the first 'vinegars' of the new era. The supreme irony. The frothing, back-tracking and arse-covering on ITTV will take the entertainment value to a new level - except that Reams will probably make the place members-only again in an attempt to hide their embarrassment.
@lardiman To be fair to Reams, he was in a good mood last night following the hard fought win of his local team. Wrexham beat Solihull Moors 1-0.
No wind up here. The first time I ever went to Wrexham was for Wrexham v Cardiff in '90 for a league game. I wonder if 'he' was there?
That’s not quite true is it. It’s not so much that he’s bringing bad news that’s upset Lifers, it’s more the way he goes about it.
All he has to do is say "Sorry I rushed story to meet a VoTV deadline and got it wrong" By his refusal to say he was wrong he is starting to sound like Tony Blair over Iraq and look where that got poor Tony ! ...... ahh 'EU Middle East Envoy' then head of 'European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation'...... sort of ruins that point
