Hardly anyone even mentioning The Open in my circle of friends..Looks to me like with it not being broadcast on terrestrial TV it has lost its appeal..

You have a point as cricket demonstrates.

England are good to watch right now...but only if you have Sky.

Mickelson and Stenson's final round was sport as good as it gets but only if you have Sky

I watched the highlights on BBC. I haven't had sky sports for over a year now, thinking of getting it back in for the coming season.

Change of plans today. No painting for me :)

We're off to watch the Women's Open at Woburn.

I've just been given 2 passes with full access to the clubhouse, etc by one of lads down the pub who's a member.

Brownie points in the bag for me ;)

In a better ball comp we may have well got our names on a board ..48 points. Without one longish putt going in.

My partner however reckons he should not be cut!

Thought id bump this thread for you golfering ****s. Seeing as its the Lee Ryder cup thingy soon and that fella has just deeded.

Cheers tbh I am a bit tired as Rory Mcilroy took a few extra holes in play-off to win $11m last night...past my bedtime.

On the golfing theme I was playing in a four ball last week up at Alnmouth with my usual golfing partner in a seniors open. The pair we were playing with, included one Bryan 'Pop' Robson...great guy...iirc he left our academy after row with Short? Nevertheless he reckons we lack both quality and quantity in the squad...a point with which I whole heartedly agree. Decent chat, decent golfer, and a great player for us, them lot and West ham

And a proper Sunderland lad. Wasnt he from right next to Roker Park?

Francis st or Osboune st?

I'm at a reunion this weekend and fortunately it's in my neck of the woods. Playing on Friday at Downshire Golf Club then on the piss. Saturday we are at Crumbles club, Southwood Golf Course. Reunion dinner afterwards in the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst; me thinks it could get a tad messy :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Gone for a few daft bets for top European and top American double.

Favourite being Kaymer/Fowler at about 120/1.

Always put them both on E/W in the majors.
