Nah. He's a quality player. Mcillroy has been in the exact same position as Smith and that hasn't really hampered him.
I thought the same. Looked like he bottled it to me.
The next few holes he played showed that it got to him. Players will look at that if he is in a final/play off going forward. Tiger would smash him if he got a sniff of weakness.

It's the only thing that separates golfers really, doesn't matter how talented you are, if you haven't naturally got enormous brass balls you aren't going to win much at the top level.
Would have been interesting at the end there if he wasn't so far ahead. Deserved winner though.
I played to a handicap of 9 at my best years ago. My biggest enemy was my temper. I lose my head after a bad hole and do exactly what Smith did. Lasts for 3 holes plus. My brother was a similar handicap but he never lost his head. No matter what.
I always loved playing. Shot an 83 off 22 in Durham club championship early on. My afternoon round was wrecked by the third hole! Because of my temper!! 95 on the afternoon round!! Massive regret on that as I should’ve been shooting a sub 90 too.
I'm the same mate I'm my own worst enemy in these things.
I'll criticise pro golfers etc for bottling it but I do have a lot of respect for them, it's tough.
I had no idea Scheffler was only 25, I thought he was around 40 looking at him. Could have an amazing career.
Cracking knock from Rory but he always seems to do this when the pressure is off, well done to Shane Lowery canny comp. for him also. Scheffler is having a great run at the minute and just looks so solid in all parts of his game.(except putting on the last hole.)

i'm playing off 9 right now and going through a purple patch which i'm sure won't last. But my team did win a tournament last night under the flood lights, so my good form is ok so far...however, as we all know...at least those who play regular...this game bites you on the arse so quick when you think you've got it sussed
