If his own team had given 100% against ICT, he wouldn't have to worry about how hard other teams were trying.

The irony is that if any team has an incentive not to give 100%, it'll be Motherwell against Celtic in their final league match of the season. If Celtic win the SPL title, Motherwell would be guaranteed a spot in Europe next season even if they lose the Cup final. They're hardly going to shoot themselves in the foot.
