I wouldn't trust that exit poll to be that accurate but if it is.....thank God we don't get Ed Milliband as PM....thank God indeed.
The Broadcasters’ Exit Poll (seems to be shared by them all as the numbers are the same on Ch4 and Sky) reads:
If that is right, they can put the current coalition back together and have a majority. If the Poll is close to accurate, they actually only need 323 to form a working majority as Sinn Fein never take their seats so 326 is not really needed. The obvious other option is to bring in the DUP (8 seats) and make a troika. We could be spared the days of uncertainty – hurrah!
The guy that reportedly bet £88,000 at 10/11 on the Tories to get more than 287 seats will be queuing at the payout in the morning.

Like I am anti-Labour, I figure that you are anti-Tory. That does not make me pro-Tory, so I will not assume that you are pro-Labour.
I suppose that the Second World War could be considered as economic turmoil. The wartime coalition took their eye of the ball and we can only blame Winston Churchill for putting too much emphasis on foreign policy.
The 1950s were a time of huge economic turmoil brought about by almost full employment and massive improvements in living standards as the country rebuilt after the war years. The start of the 1960s was ruined by The Beatles and some other Scousers making a right racket so that people enjoyed themselves and had loads of kids.
Do you remember the 1970s? I do. The first bit did see us join the EEC, which seemed like a good idea at the time but that has now morphed into the failing socialist super state known as the EU. So we can blame the Tories for that. The second bit saw the rubbish piling up in the streets, the lights going out and double-digit inflation leading to us going cap-in-hand to the IMF for a bailout so that we could devalue the pound and get the exchange rate with the US dollar back to something realistic.
Hang on, why am I bothering to make this argument? Surely, after each failed Labour government there has had to be years of Tory misrule to sort out the problems that they have been left once the electorate have got fed up of years of Labour misrule. So there we have it: Democracy – the ability to choose who misrules your country.
Just seen the shameful interview with lord Kinnock. The voters are wrong, it's all your fault the old windbag tells us. Exactly the line of successive Labour governments during the '60s and '70s on many issues. Inflation was our fault, oh no it wasn't it was the governments.
Anyway it looks like a Conservative/Ulster Unionist tie-up, which is as Tory as it can get these days. The DUP has rather been fair weather friends in the past as they, rather than the Liberals, were supporting the last minority Labour Government of Callaghan. The comparison with our latest coalition was that the DUP got a lot out of that and actually things were not too bad in the country until those friendly Unions decided it was the time to cause trouble. Contrast that with this coalition where the Lib Dems have been puppies rather than partners and will now pay the price with their supporters.
l can't help but be saddened by the SNP whitewash in Scotland. This has to be dealt with now as it is intolerable to everyone else in the UK. A separate English Parliament (?). As a one-nation Tory I hate the idea but I can't see an alternative.
Filled with foreboding: Cameron has proved himself a weak politician and certainly no statesman. The Conservatives have won by default.

Bustino Scottish vote for snp is purely tactical and wont last as they are now pointless seats in westminster. 20yr old student takes Douglas alexanders seat in paisley. Really a 20yr old!! Orvill the duck couldve got in if it stood for snp!
I was disappointed to see Orvill wasn't standing, but I suppose he has no voice these days after last weeks sad news.
Good old Acton, always swings the wrong way! When the country went Con in 1970 Labour regained the seat. In '74 it went Con again. Keeps doing it.

Id like to say I'm disappointed in the British public for voting that ****ing idiot in again but I guess I can't blame them there really was a lack of a serious alternative and looks like a case of most people have gone with better the devil you know. On the plus side the Tories did say they wanted to scrap the Human Rights act so IF they stick to their word then I'll get at least one thing I wanted!
Could't have believed that a Scottish MP representing the Conservative and Unionist Party might win me a fair amount of dough!

At least Euros will remain good value for my trips to Munchen, Nurnberg, Regensburg, Bamberg, Augsburg, Mittenwald, Garmisch - Partenkirchen and Starnberg plus 'oop north' to Koln!
Just remembered; what about the 'joker' who sauntered into a bookies in Glasgow and placed £15,000 at 7/1 on the Conservative and Unionist party reaching an outright majority. Bet his sphincter is working overtime this morning!

Personally I feel that is the best result for the country but don't expect me to justify that; it's just a gut feel I've had since they got in last time and it hasn't changed. Relieved is the word. Apologies to all those who wanted anything but.
