It's like that everywhere now though. Last time I went to Alton towers it was;

£6 for parking, £10 for parking a bit closer
£7 for a ride photo
Something like £20 for a fast pass for 4 designated rides (Queue jumping for the well off!)
ABout £90 for all day queue jumping (For the rich)
About £48 just to get in (If you are uninitiated enough to not have got a 2for1 voucher before visiting)
All other items such as food, drinks and merchandise ££££

They really try to wring every last penny out of you! That was a while ago and i hear it now costs you an arm and a leg..............maybe just a leg!

Bah!

We paid for a hour bowling. As soon as the hour was up, our game closed down. We have 1 more bowl each to finish a game, and it could have gone either way. So frustrating. Things like Pool and Air Hock should have been free, with the amount we paid for that place. We even got a couple of bottles of water from a machine in the sports plaza, and it swallowed one lot of coins and didn't release the drink. So had to pay for 3 bottles and got 2. Unbelievable.

My experience of Holidays in UK is much the same.
Very expensive and not much for your money.

I have been taking regular trips abroad, and with
a little browsing on the Internet can normally pick
up a bargain.

Me and er indoors are off to Corfu on 6 May
from Norwich all inclusive for £329 each.
We even got an upgrade be e-mailing the
Hotel to tell them of our impending Wedding
Anniversary.<bubbly><bubbly>

That's good work.

Don't know a lot about Corfu. Hope you have a nice time.

Crikey you couldn't have a weekend amongst some damp trees in Elveden Stalag for that.

Been twice before.
Nice temp about 23c this time of year,
Good food,cheap wine, nice people.
Fantastic island. Have you done the boat cruise to Paxos & Antipaxos?
It's well worth it, or at least it was when I was there years ago.
I believe day trips to Albania are possible now, too whereas when I was there it was barbed wire and land mines on the beaches to keep everyone away <yikes>

I'm off to Slovenia in 3 weeks for ten days. Based in the vibrant green capital, Ljubljana but with loads of day-trip options by bus and train. £23 a night private room right in the (pedestrianised) city centre close to the river, fruit and fish markets, bars galore...... <cheers>
Never been, heard so much good stuff and really looking forward to it <ok>

Come and visit me here. Rooms from £10 a night, ***s 60p a pack, beer around the same per bottle and rum/gin about £1.20 per bottle. Only problem is the air fare. And we do have a rainy season, but it is still decently hot.

David Attenborough is 90 today and the BBC has a programme about him at 7pm this evening - I'll be out, but will certainly be recording it!!!
