I'm VERY interested to see what HMRC do about the 'Panama Papers' release.

Will Cameron put his money where his mouth is and back a full investigation after harping on about this government focussing on tackling corruption back in July.

Temptation. Get behind me Satan LOL.

It is a good flag, three golden crowns on a blue field denoting our Scandinavian ancestry allied to the flag representing England.

He could bring it upto date by putting; a Chicken tikka massala in one corner, a eurocrat bending us over in another, a sleazy politician rubbing his hands together over a brown paper bag stuffed with money and in the last a teenager hunched over a smart phone. Britain, ain't it great?

    Bah!

It's the flag of the Kingdom of East Anglia.

    Down with perfidious Mercia.

Remember Ealdwulf! All glory to him!

1017 worst year of all time. Never forget.

Wow JKC, that is a blast from the past.
1017. Cnut ordering the execution of Eadwig unless you are referring to Cnut marrying Aethered's widow.
King Ealdwulf was dead before 1017.
Personally I don't think we are in a position to change anything that happened then.

I was more highlighting the glory of Ealdwulf's reign (never forget). One of the zeniths of East Anglia's history.

1017 was the absorption of the East Anglia.
    RIP

Been a lot of water under the bridge. We've become the UK since then, even brought Scotland into partnership by offering the throne to King James I (James III of Scotland). Wessex was the dominant kingdom in those days with Mercia partly under their control. The northern part was under Danish control as was EA and Northumbria.

The Danes wanted to extend Danelaw to all England but were eventually beaten. Apart from yourself don't think anyone else knew of the existence of King Ealdwulf.

JKC I most certainly am not a heretic, suggest you learn manners.
There are ways and means of disagreeing without being disagreeable !!!

This thread got more aggressive than I imagined!

I just meant: what have you done today, what made you smile? What random thing did you think of?

Do the emergency services in UK have their own language? I've just read about David Gest's passing and the BBC reports the Police statement as, "London Ambulance Service were called to the scene. Life was pronounced extinct at the hotel."

This follows another recent fire incident where the Fire Brigade statement described a man who got out of the building himself as "self-evacuating". :bandit:

I remember an American sheriff some years ago at the end of a school bus shootout stating "the suspect is deceased at this time".

American police talking in front of camera is excruciating at the best of times. "Hear y'all" etc.

Centre Parcs this weekend. Got here Friday, first impression was gutted. Very tired and run down looking. We paid extra for a lake view. Can't really see the lake coz it's just trees in the way. The area below the balcony is a waste land of birds and their sh*t. The toilet doesn't even flush a wee away! So been all kinds of trouble this weekend. Was really depressing when it was so expensive to book all this. Now I'm use to and excepted all this. Actually been a nice weekend. Lovely meals, lots of playing pool and air hock. Played bowling last night. Gonna have an early meal at Cafe Rouge tonight. Probably a nice Steak. Then go for an evening swim when the pool is very quiet. Just chill out with a swim and going in the hot pools.

I don't really get holidays as I'm self employed, so this long weekends been nice. Just wish it wasn't a major event to poo here and get rid of it! :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0110-tongu

Perhaps you could multitask if the pool is quiet? <whistle>
