It is a great mystery to me why every country do not drive or the same side, be it left or right.

I know the Romans used to drive on the left as per evidence from an ancient quarry road wear. I think the yanks and frogs wanted to just be different from the British so decided to drive on the other side when they had their revolutions.

On this day - 1963: The Beatles' first album, Please Please Me, is released in the United Kingdom. Needing an further 10 songs to add to the two singles also on the album, the band had recorded what was essentially their live act in three sessions on the same day.

1st LP (that's what we called them) I purchased. Can't remember what I paid, but still have it along with Beatles for Sale, Help and Rubber Soul.
 
Just came across a book on kindle called "Call the Canaries Home". But it is nothing to do with the club.
 
Great Britain's Alfie Hewett successfully defended his men's wheelchair title at the US Open against compatriot and doubles partner Gordon Reid.

Hewett was in control throughout, beating good friend Reid 6-4 6-3.

Great player, well done Alfie

The triumph is Hewett's eighth Grand Slam singles title and fourth at Flushing Meadows.
