Obviously a much better performance (and result) and they all seemed to put a shift in ... special shout outs for Jakob Stolarcyk and Bilal El Khanouss... the former is really stepping up and the latter is proving a bargain at his transfer fee ... I also have to eat some humble pie because both Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova-Reid played really well - onwards and, hopefully, continually upwards ...
And Vardy inching his way to that magic number of 151 Prem goals. How I would love that to see Michael Owen eat humble pie
I’ve just looked up the Michael Owen issue with Vardy as I knew nothing about it. Owen called Vardy lucky! The cheeky tw@t. He was just a one footed speed merchant who faded quickly once his speed went. Vardys finishing always seems measured and composed. Some people need to come out with outrageous nonsense to generate attention because they can’t think of anything constructive to do or say. Come on Jamie, get those goals one way or another.
You can’t blame Coady for that one Fosse Seriously though, what a pathetic performance. Again, we never troubled their keeper and this is happening time and time again. Don’t get me started on our defence! The same mistakes are happening week after week, yet we start with the same players and the same formation. Then the same old story in the interviews after the game about how we failed to press them, win the 2nd ball, no aggression etc, etc. Make it happen during the game and stop telling us why we didn’t do it, afterwards!!!
wasn't blaming Coady for this particular one - but those 3 c/bs have to be the poorest currently plying their trade in the PL...
Van Nistelrooy hinted we won’t be making any more signings in this transfer window which is an admission we are going down to me. Yesterday’s result was a new low, Spurs must be really bad if we can beat them. It’s Arsenal in the league next, that could really be embarrassing, there’s just no energy in the team and they’ll run rings around us. It’s been said before, many times, but the recruitment in the summer was terrible. Why spend £20m on Skipp? Why give Vestegaard a new contract? Decordova Reid? We needed a cover striker as Daka was injured but surely Cannon would have been a better option than Eduoarde, and now we can’t strengthen as we can’t get rid of him. Buonanotte seemed the best addition, but now Van Nistelrooy seems to have fallen out with him and won’t play him. It’s really one big calamity after another and I can’t see it being sorted with Van Nistelrooy presiding over matters. Him and Rudkin are just taking us backwards.
Hamza Choudhry gets MOTM award from Sheff United fans on his debut against the sheep - all action, energetic - won everything... played in his proper position as a midfield destroyer ...
Talk coming out of Wolves we’re swapping Coady for Dawson. What would be the point of that? We’ve never used Coady properly, he’s best suited playing sweeper in a 3 CB formation. I’ve lost faith in the whole situation now anyway.
Given the centre-back debacle against Everton I' be tempted to switch to a back 5 - JJ, Wilf and Okoli with Couliballly and Kristensen as wing-backs to provide attacking width... Soumare as the enforcer with El Khanouss and Buenanotte further forward and with Daka and Vardy as a twin striking combo...
Well I’d like to think Faes and Vestegaard aren’t in the team at least. If we three centre backs then I’d go with Okoli, Coady and A.N.Other. Anyone but either of them.
