Chris Wood off to Newcastle by the look of it. No brainer for Wood, big pay day and playing front of 50,000. Also good business from Newcastle, he may not be a starter next season but may help keep them up and Burnley down this season. Probably overtake Winston Reid as NZ's wealthiest Prem player.

... at least it postpones his customary goal against us to a bit later in the season ...<whistle>

Ghana out of the AFCON, Big Dan on his way home. Although Castagne has had an operation and joins the out for 8 weeks gang.

A number of our walking wounded return and should feature tomorrow. We're playing something called a football match apparently, remember those <laugh>

What did I witness last night?!!!

It brought all the Troy Deeney feelings back!!!

Ok, we didn't deserve to win the game, but being 2-1 up (somehow) with 8 seconds to go............well, I'm just speechless.

Why oh why to we continue to sit so bloody deep when we are winning?

This will be a test of character now for us. We need to bounce back against Brighton on Sunday. Before last night, I'd gladly of taken 4 points from the 2 home games. WE MUST WIN THIS GAME NOW AT ALL COSTS!

Note to Brenda.....Never, I repeat NEVER play Soyuncu and Vestergaard together ever again.

I thought Albrighton did well last night and what a sight it was to see JJ back. Doesn't seem to have lost any of his pace and he looked strong. Hope he has 90 minutes in him at the weekend.

This game will take some time to forget.....if ever!

Albrighton, although never achieving great heights, is a proper baller and nearly won us that game. <applause>

Central defence is clearly our biggest problem area. Do we have a first choice combination? Fofana will be our mainstay when he comes back, and if we can hold onto him. But what of the rest? Evans is past his use-by date as he can't play 2 games on the trot. Soyuncu, after a good first season, is now looking like a liability. Amartey isn't anywhere near top class. Vestergaard is ......., well, let's just move on. Benkovic is gone after never playing a game. Ndidi and Choudhury are just stand-ins. We have quality wide defenders in abundance. It's just that we can't keep them injury free. There's no point buying another knee jerk reaction replacement in January, but we do need to get one or two lined up for the summer. I wouldn't want to face going into next season with the central defenders we have now and no Youri as well.

Having thrown away 5 points in 2 matches we are now only 4 points above Leeds in 15th place. In this form we have every chance of being dragged into a dog fight of our own making. I don't care who is coming back from the AFCON, we still have the same old culprits in defence. The equaliser yesterday came from a ridiculous short ball from Soyuncu to Thomas. The lad had 3 players on him in a flash with no out ball and the inevitable followed. We are conceding so many self inflicted goals by trying to play Pep type football in the wrong circumstances.
I didn't see yesterday's match, but was it necessary to take off some of our more attacking players - Lookman and Barnes - and hand over the responsibility of trying to defend a one goal lead to a defence that is so accident prone and lacking in confidence? Would it not have been better to try and push them back instead of encouraging them to come at us?

Rodgers is either just a bit arrogant or incapable of learning from his own mistakes ... Bournemouth away 2 seasons back - 1-0 up at half time and coasting - 3 points that would have given us a CL spot - takes off Iheanacho and looks to keep them out- disastrous defensive calamity ensues - largely down to the continuous pressure from inviting them on to us ...

That 'tactic' seems to be one he is prepared to persevere with ... under Ranieri not only did we have more robust defenders but the key point waxs that we kept the opposition on the back foot by having a constant threat of more goals . .

Learn Brenda, you Muppet <laugh>

On a more positive note, JJ is looking sharp and his movement also allows Cags to hit some cracking long diagonals which are not only a useful out ball but has the opposition defence under pressure given JJ's speed... breath of fresh air ... JJ and Luke Thomas are fine wing backs and should just get better and better ... just need to sort the centre backs out now... oh and ditch zonal marking <cheers>
