Glad we haven’t been sheep and followed the rest of them. It’s pure greed. As seen elsewhere, surely it’ll encourage people to buy the game once and get together in groups to watch it rather than numerous individual purchases (as well as illegal streams but that’s a given). People getting together to watch will in turn, be against what the government are trying to encourage with their restrictions so I’m surprised they haven’t blocked this. Maybe they still will.
I'll most definitely not be paying £15 per match on top of the significant amount I'm already paying in tv subscriptions. I desperately hope lots of fans boycott this ppv shambles. Isn't it going to encourage people to share the cost and gather at houses, which is hardly a good idea in the current time and exactly what should be avoided. And given the financial difficulties many families currently face but clubs have just spent millions on transfers and new salaries, it's an insult. It'll be interesting when the next fixtures are out to see how many prime fixtures are on ppv that would normally be Super Sunday etc. Delighted to see that we voted against.
So the injury list or recently injured, not played much and may not be fit list is; Ricardo Ndidi Evans Soyuncu Maddison Praet really got to hope the latter two are back, Praet was sub for Belgium so you’d imagine so. Hope at least one of Evans or Cags are ok, otherwise big Wes/little Wes Edit - Little Wes now doubtful due to Covid cases in the France u21’s....will we be able to put a team out? Vardy doubtful as well
Soyuncu out for up to 3 months! Vardy probably fit for next weekend, presumably means not any possibility of playing Thursday.
Fofana was a huge positive despite the result tonight ... lad is dominant in the air and excellent on the ground...
Hmm just feels like injuries are going to prevent us doing anything of note this season. Having said that we saw last season that having a great first half means nothing. It’s whether we can genuinely field our strongest side for an extended run in the new year. Hopefully we have enough to navigate through the EL group. 0 points from 2 homes games against West Ham and Villa is not good enough in any circumstances though. They definitely need a review of what they are doing in training though, apparently Rodgers like intense training but we have players pulling up, tearing things left, right and centre...
Looks good when they bring in a new Physio and everyone starts dropping like flies, may be a coincidence though. We really do need a back up striker who can make things happen on his own. Ihenacho and Slimani lack Vardys movement and threat.
Great result from an under strength side. Have to say cant remember being this excited by a young prospect like I am with Wes Fofana. Either we go on to greatness or we make a truckload of money in the next year or two when the big boys come calling.
Very professional all round team performance and Fofana was again impressive. Midfield worked really well too.
Agree with you nz & ff - Good game to watch, too. My guts weren't in as many knots as they usually are when watching!
As well as the obvious, very good displays from the likes of Kelechi, Barnes, Fofana etc, I really enjoyed the refereeing performance. Really let the game flow, let a lot of more physical challenges go and how football should be and was until the last few years. The ones we have to put up with week in week out could take notes. Pretty sure VAR would have found a way to rule out a couple of our goals as well!
Love such a ****house win! So much better than 70% possession pissing around our own box sideways and backwards. What a great win!! This will be a hell of a team when we can field it Kasper Ricardo Soyuncu Fofana Casagne Ndidi Under Maddison Tielemans Barnes Vardy
Home to Villa and West Ham = 0 points. Away to Man C and Arsenal = 6 points. The world is out of kilter.
This is the problem, we’d have all taken 12 points from that first 6 (I thought we’d take a lot less with the injuries and momentum in the wrong way at the end of past season). 2 ppg is also good going and we’d have expected the ones you mention to be reversed. We need that consistency so that it doesn’t feel like a step forward, two steps back. We can only enjoy each win as it come though and setting some unwanted records such as away at Arsenal straight. just think, even if we’d held on for a dour 0-0 instead of a last gasp loss last week we’d be top.
12 points in our first 6 games matches our title winning season... But seriously, we shall know exactly how well we are doing around Christmas when we are deep into the Premier League and the cups - we have found out how dependant we are on Vardy which is troubling given the amount of games left.
Also dependent on Ndidi, Ricardo and Soyuncu. Amazing to think that we won at Arsenal with our 4 best players not in the starting line up. Will be interesting to see what we will do when everyone is fit and available.
I'm sure he would also be proud of his sons. Top is remarkable given the chairman role was thrust upon him much earlier than any of us would have believed. I also think Jon Rudkin and Susan Whelan sometimes get overlooked in their roles of steering the club forward. We are blessed to having such great owners and leadership group.
