Justin was actually fouled by Chris Wood ... if he'd pushed a Liverpool or United defender like that, I suspect the goal would have been ruled out ... he's still very young and will learn ... and will be a beast when he fills out properly.
The actual rule says this:On their opening goal, whether it was a foul or not, the ball clearly struck Wood's arm. Have VAR relaxed the rules on handball leading to a goal this season?
It couldn't have been any more immediate! The actual rule says this:
so I can only assume the word 'immediately' is the problem here..
- ‘accidental’ handball by an attacking player (or team-mate) is only penalised if it occurs ‘immediately’ before a goal or clear goal-scoring opportunity
I fully agree! The trouble is with 'immediate' being in quotes like that, they have simply covered their backs and can interpret tt however they like!It couldn't have been any more immediate!

It is this daft T shirt rule - will create far more controversy
How are they going to define it if players are wearing long sleeves?
Personally I didn’t object to that goal standing. Probably in the modern game by the letter of the law there was definitely one maybe two offences but I tend to ask myself how I would feel if it was up the other end and if we scored a goal like that and it got ruled out I don’t think I’d be the only one pissed off by it so just glad it didn’t affect the result. I think the bigger issue is Justin’s learning curve and that he uses the experience of being bullied by a big, physical team to his advantage for future.

Fair enough. As I say, I recognise that I would be annoyed so can’t let myself be biased when it went against us. I suppose I’m thinking from a defenders point of view that he should get his positioning better and not been bullied out of it but then I was not a defender when I played and was the devious little winger who would be putting the unseen niggles out thereHave to disagree on that one John ... if Slimani or Ulloa had shoved a defender like that to get to the ball I would accept it was a foul if the ref blowed ... you are not really allowed to raise your hands to an opponent ... never mind shove him out the way![]()
same with Nacho’s disallowed goal at Norwich earlier in the year, I felt it was harsh so I’m not feeling aggrieved about Wood’s the other day. I do think Justin was awesome going forwards though and links very well with BarnesCan just see VAR placing a line on a players arm to judge whether it would have hit a T-shirt

at least the midfield is currently overloaded with ready made replacements in form. Mendy, Praet, Choudhury (if required)Ndidi out for up to 12 weeks!!!!!
