Lovely morning here ... been hanging around waiting to take the youngest to school so out on the patio ... love the smaller tree / shrub in this ... no idea what it is but the weird foliage is pretty neat ...

 

it's gotta be some type of willow..

you should get some palms.

Been using the herbs loads, they are all growing really well. Great having fresh herbs.

 

such as?

 

I have bay, lemon thyme, thyme and oregano.

 

avoid mint, it's rampant. but nice selection.

 

The oregano is a bit like that, can't cut enough of it. I've been drying some of them out and that's also gone well.

 

We keep the 2 types of mint, lemon balm and oregano in an old Belfast sink, 2 old dolly tubs and an old lead tank we took out of the loft from our first house, keeps them controlled and looks decent too.

 

Is your oregano hard to control?

 

they need to be kept under control...don't just plant them in your garden...

 

He’s right about the mint, but you’ll be alright if it’s in a separate large pot.

 

Never had a problem with any of them since we put them in containers, so much easier to look after, we tend to dig out about half the plant at the end of the season, gives space for the new better growth come spring

 

All mine are in pots, it's just the oregano that has gone nuts.
