Finding myself pleasantly surprised by Jermaine Jenas' punditry. Nothing Earth shattering, but he's reasonably eloquent.

Yes, he did one of those lethal little hops in front of an opposition player. We must never leave our feet and all running is to be replaced by roller skates.
At the end of the day it was a two footed tackle and was a yellow card offence.
 
No it wasn't. It was soft, but I can definitely see why he was sent off.

Hopefully it will be rescinded. Yacob did a silly two footed jump into the tackle and with the Villa player going to ground then the ref could not see the impact which happened after the jump.
Video ref would of resolved this incident :biggrin:

Well, it was more of a two-footed hop... Personally, I would have thought that a challenge which had far less potential for causing injury than basically any one-footed challenge - as it was just a tiny little hop in front of another player - should be treated on merit. But merit and refereeing are, apparently, worlds apart.
