Hang on Tom, I've just re read your post. I thought a two Footed tackle was a red card?
Nope. That's a common misunderstanding of the laws. 2 feet and off the floor is a red card. A 2 footed tackle can be just reckless if on the ground and not out of control. For example if you get the ball cleanly but with a 2 footed tackle. That's a foul and a yellow card.

Ok thanks. What about if you just lift your foot upwards from a standing position, studs pointing downwards, the ball hits it and you gain possession .... Like Yacob did :) :)

Like I said it was soft, but in real time, with the player's reaction it looked a yellow card.

Hang on!!!! I need some clarification here.... The law is nuts.

Can you outline or detail how a two footed tackle can not be "off the floor". Surely by definition if you have two feet in a tackle you have had to get them both off the floor; otherwise it's a one footed tackle.

You can slide in with both feet on the ground. By in the air I mean you jump into the tackle with both feet.

If this game goes to a replay, then it will presumably be on the same day as the Reading-Bradford replay, namely one week tomorrow (it can't be Tuesday - Thursday next week, because UEFA don't allow FA Cup matches to be played on a European night).

That in turn would have to see Liverpool's MNF game vs Swansea be postponed, or at the very least moved back to 3pm Saturday (though Sky may have something to say about that, given that they've paid for X amount of TV games - it's possible that it may have to moved to another day where Sky will still be able to show the game live).

In theory therefore, the next three rounds of PL fixtures for Liverpool could read: Don't Play, Man Utd, Arsenal.

BT commentators really drive me mad, spending all their time and energy trying to come up with reasons for the ref to give a penalty.
I appreciate its a poor game but really?
Owen criticising Cortinio for not taking advantage of a defender sticking a leg out as he went by him...what a cheating t**t

Thank you.

Fair play from the officials, giving just 1 minute of added time. Being Liverpool at Anfield, I was expecting at least 4.
