So did the experiment fail.

Foden was useless. TAA did **** all.
If at first you don’t succeed, give up.

Lucky Hamish’s crew didn’t have the same attitude. As I’ve said, I don’t like Southgate but if he hadn’t tried he would be criticised and when he has and it doesn’t immediately succeed it seems he’s criticised.

I like watching England win their opening games at tournaments. For the rarity value if nothing else. A narrow win that helps bind the squad but doesn’t lead to overconfidence.

I’ll take that. Now we have to kick on. And start wor Tony over Foden.

I think Foden was the bigger issue than Tripps, but get your point

I thought Tripps was decent out there actually. I completely agree on Foden. Taking my NUFC hat off, Gordon would have been much better at keeping the width and basically not floating into everyone's way all the time.

Everyone has been talking about the defense but to me it is clear that the midfield is the problem. He's going to have to find the right blend very quickly. Big problem is the fans kick off quick if he's not seen to be playing certain players and he gets accused of being defensive and boring.

We’re pathetic, disjointed, playing players out of position, we have a manager and a coaching team who wouldn’t last 2 minutes in a premier league job, players look lethargic and look like they do t know how to control a game or attack

Exactly!

England are rubbish.

Seeded group nonsense ensures the drivel goes on for a bit longer these days though.
