Listening to the Spain vs Czech Rep. game on ESPN. American commentators are brilliant. Speaking about the last time the Czechs had a decent playmaker, one of them quips, "well, of course there's Pavel Nedved, but really, you've gotta go all the way back to Italia '90, baby!!" Imagine Michael Owen ending a sentence with "baby".
Robbie Savage says Spain must score eventually. It's that bad is it.? [not watching]. Hope so anyway. I predicted them to win 2-1.
That's the difference France, Spain and even Wales score late winners and we let in a late equaliser...it's a mentality issue.
Czech Republic defended like teams did against Barcelona/Spain a few years ago. Just 10 men behind the ball, bravely blocking shots, but they just got pushed further and further back. Please take time if you can to watch Spain and especially Iniesta in this tournament before he retires. One of the all time greats
You are right. Slightly strange situation that we obsess about how to use Kane as a striker, a position that the best two teams don't bother with. Still think Germany would beat Spain in a fair fight though.
The Liverpool and Spuds fans are crawling out of the woodwork on twitter claiming how they always rated Long. Funny that. One Liverpool fan is even referring to him as "Liverpools Shane Long". Got to laugh haven't you. (And the rest of the tweets are girls claiming their undying love for him.)
Apart from make me want to kick him in the goolies, not because of anything he's done but just because he's him.
