'The only white customers who come in are Poles': Indian butcher in Blackburn tells how racial segregation now means his shop only ever serves Asians or Eastern Europeans
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ans-shop-serves-Asians-Eastern-Europeans.html

The fact that he sells Halal meat is irrelevant to the Mail <laugh>

They'd rather use the anecdote to frighten flag waving old biddies that the darkies are coming to invade their area next - and you're paying for it!

The article has an extremely biased headline as there seems to be only one example of the white population halving. But as the article shows the principle reason for the effect is that whites move out of areas as other races move in. An unbiased headline might read 'Racial segregation driven by white bigots not wishing to live next door to immigrants'. We need to educate people not to do that! Race and religion should be no different to height and eye colour when thinking of another person.
Should people be free to live where they want? Yes or no?

i can't believe you boys are still going at it 3000 pages laters (If i'm including the other 2 debates) <laugh>

I suppose the other boards aren't as busy as they used to be.

The other boards have all been taken over by Hiag/Piskie/Ginge/ and others, all doing pretty much what's going on here!..squabbling!..

So whats your answer Yes or No?
It's not a yes or no question. Should you be allowed to live in Buckingham Palace if you want to?
Largely yes though, within reason. If someone doesn't like the area that they live in, then they're free to move.
If people are bigoted against the local community, I think that's a perfectly good reason to leave.

I was referring to the issues raised in the article. Therefore, I meant in their own country.
The butcher's from India, so not really, eh?

I assume that you mean the UK too, not just one country. Maybe not, though.
Are you for or against the free travel of British people?

So he assumes that because if you're not white it's not their country <doh>

Despite the article saying that the area had been populated by people of Asian origin since the '60's, so we're talking about 2nd and 3rd generation Brits who happen to be of Asian decent.

Bigoted old fool

I don't think he's saying that, to be fair to him.
He's saying that people should be free to move away from whoever they want, as long as they do it in their own country.

If he's saying that then what does he think are the issues raised in the article that he referred to?

The Mail is coming at it from the angle that there's no honkies in the area as they've all done one due to the Asians moving in. If that's just 'free choice' to him, then what's the beef?
