Politicians amuse me, but I can't think of any that I've been influenced by. I don't think Politics will be the driver for the major actions on the EU anyway.

How is it a fact that a Remain vote would have dragged us into some sort of European superstate?

A narrow Remain vote wouldn't give any more of a green light to do that than a narrow Leave vote would give an excuse to pander to a small number of xenophobes from crap parts of the North and push for a hard Brexit. Oh...

 

Why would anyone who dont a a few million in the bank want to leave the EU and the safety and protection it offers everyone to end up Paying a lot more for goods, ,holidays, food clothing and freedom to travel all over Europe, Why would working people and people with young children would ever want their standard of living to drop because drop it will if we try to go it alone without the single market....The £ is already at an all time low which is great for the high flyers in our society but is very bad in your pay packets as you are not getting the value you have worked for and your £ will not buy the same things you could have before the referendum....why would people vote to come out if you lose the ability of freedom and a standard of living that you are use too and we are not even close to leaving the EU....yet.....It dont make any sense at all and if we do leave the EU with everything it offers then what we now pay for things with our lowest value of our £ today is nothing to what you will pay and what your salaries will be worth outside of the EU......

 

A narrow vote or a landslide are, from an EU perspective, of little difference as the vote would bet on remain with no realistic prospect of changing it.

A remain vote favours xenophobia more than a leave vote does.

 

Because some don't see life in the EU as the shangri-la you try to paint. The EU have cost a fair few their jobs and impacted negatively on communities.

One of the reasons that the Scots elected to stay as part of the Union was the loss of their EU status and the potential long haul path for them to gain entry post the break up. They heavily voted to stay in the referendum to boot, to suggest that the loss of our EU membership wouldn't potentially tip the balance in the favour of independence was it re- run, is showing your compete ignorance

I still see no reason why it's a fact we'd become any more at one with the EU than we are (were). It just sounds like your opinion- one I can't say I've seen much of elsewhere.

As for your second paragraph, I'm genuinely intrigued how you've come to that conclusion.

Even the guarantee of an independent Scotland being able to remain in the EU doesn't move public opinion in favour of independence.

None EU citizens currently lose out when it comes to immigration to the UK. It's why a fair percentage of UK citizens with a commonwealth heritage voted to leave. As there are more countries outside the EU than in, Xenophobes would prefer a UK in the EU than out.
