Migration is NOT up for discussion: David Davis vows UK WON'T compromise on border control
David Davis, the Tory Cabinet minister spearheading the drive to quit the
EU, told MPs the issue of border controls will not be on the negotiating table in talks about the UK's future relationship with the bloc.
Instead, the number of EU migrants allowed into the country every year will be set by the Government according to the "national interest", he promised.
His remarks were a shattering blow to campaigners for a so-called "soft" Brexit who claim the UK should continue to abide by EU open-borders rules in return for staying a member of the bloc's Single Market.
