Yes you are right, but he means we deal with the EU, but as you say France and Germany will have a bigger say, but all 27 countries must agree, so what will Germany give them to make a deal?
France and Germany combined only have a population of 29% of the EU.
Scotland has a population of 8% of the UK
Reality doesn't support your arguments.
They are the two largest economies of the EU Or will be after we've gone...
That's how they dominate proceedings.
Some, particularly the eastern states will not deal. Especially on freedom of movement. How the others will deal with this, I don't know.
It's what makes me suspect that this could drag on for a very long time!..
After 2 years we are out deal or no deal, just mean tariffs that Germany and France will not want, do you think the east countries will win?
So you've admitted the EU is not democratic. Best to be out of such an organisation.
We are not out after two years if all agree that negotiations need longer, which is highly likely, given the complexity of the issues involved.
Custard, England dominates the so called 'United' Kingdom. The Scots have just had their democratically expressed wishes overturned by The English.
The Scots will almost certainly demand another referendum as soon as oil prices rise. It will probably be denied to them, but that's democracy, eh?
Sorry though you were on about the EU and so called democracy
They had one 2 years ago and they lost it, so why would they have anoter one so soon, then maybe another when the moon is full etc etc

The voters in the UK have a reasonably equal say in how the UK is run. You are saying that is not the case in the EU.
Of course that have an equal say. That's why all members have to agree.
However, due to their size and influence, Germany and France tend to,dominate proceedings.
The EU is as democratic as the UK is...
As I say, they all have to agree on things. However, as in any Union, the larger members tend to have more influence.
In denying Scotland's democratically expressed wishes to remain in the EU.
What is practiced nowadays is not democracy in the true sense. The word comes from Ancient Greek. Demos, meaning people and Kratos, meaning power. In other words power of the people.
Now, that would be fine if all people were of the same mind. But they are not. They all have different aims and goals and ideas in life. So, the power of one person in getting what they want through a 'democratic' vote, diminishes the power of another who has had his/her wishes denied.
So, what we really have nowadays is power of the majority. Not democracy in its truest sense. There is no such word as Majocracy, but that's what we live under now. Both the UK and the EU.
As somebody once said, "Modern democracy is two wolves and one sheep deciding what to have for lunch"
