Off Topic The Environment

Zac Goldsmith RESIGNS from Rishi Sunak’s government. “The problem is not that the government is hostile to the environment, it is that you, our Prime Minister, are simply uninterested.”

Resigning because of government apathy towards the environment is a start, but personally I think they should all be resigning - or be sacked - for apathy towards UK citizens.

China just experienced its highest temperature in recorded history, topping out at an unbelievable 52.2°C (126°F). This crushes the country's previous all-time high by 1.7°C (3°F).

I wilt when it gets to 35°C here. Just what temperatures will our grandchildren be expected to live with?

It was a rather pleasant 15°C here today, some light drizzle and a slight breeze.
Possibly ideal for climate refugees.

The Greek government declared that Rhodes evacuation (due to out-of-control wildfire) is the largest in the country's history.

Can anyone tell me why British holidaymakers are still being flown into this by EasyJet and others?

I wouldn't be surprised if this was in Eire. Because...
Many years ago, whilst working in Dublin, I left the plant and as I prepared to turn right noticed a queue of vehicles waiting on the side of the road I was about to join but facing in the wrong direction, as it were. I looked again - to see opposite the turning, a petrol station. In the petrol station was a hearse - WITH COFFIN - and the driver was filling it with fuel. If that wasn't bizarre enough, the driver had full morning (mourning ?) suit on, nicely finished off with bright green knee length Wellies. The queue of vehicles was of course the funeral procession. Only in Eire !
