The manager takes the credit he employed Jones. We covered all that.

You criticised Bruce during bad results and refused to credit during good results

Now you're criticisong me for criticising Howe during bad results...

There's no getting away from it folders.. I criticised and credited Bruce you did not! Not without the buts and the ifs..
As always, context.

If the world was only black and white it would be a boring place to live.

You can continue your mental gymnastics but trying to take the moral high ground on a man that has demonstrated he credits good results and doesn't bad results when you yourself haven't is a new level.

I’ve checked the online dictionary and “context” doesn’t mean either “mental gymnastics “ nor “moral high ground”.

Can we stick to using English in this discussion, please.

If they get this granted then they will have had 4 matches out of the 22 currently, postponed.

Does anyone else think this is purely bending the rules?

Depends - if they have had positive Covid tests and had to allow 10 days then I think it was inevitable this game was being postponed as well. They last played on the 8th and had positive tests since so was always going to be unlikely to be played.

The only thing I can see that's minutely positive is that its Tottenham, Leicester and Watford the three games in hand Burnley have over us. 2 very difficult games and a game where someone around us is dropping points if not both teams.

As someone else said beat Watford and that's actually good for us, draw with Watford that's good for us, we just can't afford for Burnley to gift a catchable team 3 points currently so I'm all in favor of postponing this game again actually.

Are you going to credit Jones or Howe if things improve?

It's just when bruce won 8 of the last 11 you refused to credit the manager

Ahhh, hypothetical questions now.

We’ll have to see what happens. Clearly stupid to give an answer in advance when it’s not possible to consider all the facts and put them into context first.

We’ll see if he does and if he does I’ll then let you know. <cheers>

If you look back to their last PL game played which was a long time ago now they didn’t have any covid cases.

But since maybe they have some. There is a fine line between teams going “ah we have some injuries. We have some players at Afcon. We have 1/2 covid cases. Let’s get the game cancelled. Because we don’t have our best available team.”

I am looking at you Arsenal football club.

I get where you are coming from but then you need to put the shoe on the other foot and say: yes they have a few injuries and players away but with the *additional* players out due to Covid they may well not have the required players to play whether that be 2/3/4 or more. Arsenal though defo seemed to be taking advantage of the rules and it makes me question whether there will be a rule change next year - maybe an increased squad limit for a year or two of 28/30 players say?

That’s a good idea actually. Removed the issue to a certain extent.

Apparently a NUFC rep was asked about Howe getting until the end of the season, the rep responded with it depends what you think the end of the season is.

"Hello, NUFC Rep calling here, we're going door to door selling domino cards ro raise funds for a special yellow bus to transport Jamal to and from games - has flavoured windows n all sorts - anyway it's £2 a team with the winner getting a meat hamper from Lidl. Would you like to participate?"

"Hmmm depends on if Ediie will be here to the end of the season mate?"

"Depends on what season you refer to? Spring? Summer? Autumn? Winter? or Football?"

I didn't make it up, its in the press. Saying Howe is under pressure.

Apparently the owners were fuming when Watford equalised.

Then quote your sources!

Just posting anything that praises Rafa or criticises or undermines any other manager without quoting sources just looks like an agenda - and a misguided one at that. Quoting your sources gives us the chance to decide if we think its journalists posting ****e (almost certainly), a twitter account seeking attention (almost always) or someone with genuine connections (very rare).
