I don't understand what Hants are doing? Stop eating up deliveries and score some bloody runs. Will Smith is going backwards. So dull.

As long as we to get 350 inside the 110 overs, and we make over 500, then I'm not fussed about this go slow approach today. I'll take it. Apart from maybe McManus, all the remaining batters score quick.

I'm more concerned that the pitch might be as flat as Durham and Warks, when a big first innings counted for little. We need wins now, not high scoring draws. Fingers crossed it turns quite a bit later in the game.

Another thing is we're taking so long to build a score we're taking a lot of time out of the game. We need Smith out.

From 33-6 yesterday, Somerset are going to beat Durham. Bad news for us.

Hopefully they'll get docked points for an appalling pitch.

You'd hope, although the ECB seem to have been quite reticent to dock points since they took the 16 from us back in 2011. I do wonder if they realised that they got that points deduction wrong (which it was it my view), and so have ultra cautious since. Maybe too cautious.

And besides, Somerset won the match, unlike us against Notts. So whilst a points deduction would assist us, all it would do is basically put Somerset back to where they started - rather than see them come away with minus points, and get dragged right back in.

Through no fault of their own though, Durham's title hopes have taken a big hit. Feel sorry for them.
