Surrey need to take 11 wickets tomorrow in 94 overs - in this heat, on that pitch, and with 123 overs already in their legs - otherwise it's pretty much as-you-were in the relegation battle (given that Notts-Somerset is also going to a draw). Aside that is, for the fact that Notts and Surrey this represents c17% of their remaining games whilst for us and Somerset it represents c14% of our remaining games.
Yes we both need to take advantage of our game in hand (in particular we do), but whilst they are there, these weeks of everyone drawing suits us both better than Notts and Surrey.
