That was a big toss for Lancs to win. Given the large number of players they're missing, they look pretty weak on paper - though Livingstone is one obvious exception. Ordinarily, I would therefore make Somerset big favourites. But by bowling first, Lancs do have an opportunity to get into Somerset.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Somerset are facing up to a 20 point deduction for the pitch prepared against Durham. They should have enough of a gap to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap though, even if a full penalty was implemented.
It wouldn’t surprise me. No first class pitch should provide 35 wickets in less than 5 sessions. It pissed off many fans too, including myself, as I had tickets for Day 3.

Lancs needed that quite badly. But even so, Somerset can be satisfied with that PP.

Pretty poor SF, for a neutral, unfortunately.

Aside from a few overs at the start of Lancs' chase, Somerset dominated that match; which was always a strong possibility. If Lancs had fielded this XI throughout the group stage, I'm not sure if they'd even have finished in the top 4.

But credit to Somerset, you can only beat what's in front of you.

Fortuin is more of a PP bowling option than Dawson. So we might be able to get away with not needing to bowl Fuller in the PP. Share the first five overs between Wood, Baker and Fortuin (probably with Wood and Baker getting two each), then bring Currie onto bowl the sixth as normal.

Damn it, I completely forgot this was on today. Although tickets sold out ages ago, I got an email from Hampshire cc last week saying some tickets would be available for Hampshire fans, including non-members (I think). Ah well.

That's a poor miss from Howell. A professional cricketer should be hitting the stumps from there.
