Feels like a good score. Northants will back themselves to defend it. We were one more wicket away from keeping them to under 130.
That was only Lynn's sixth professional innings of 2025. And the first three of them came way back in the first fortnight of January! And his scores have been: 88, 49, 47, 51, 51, 108* Incredible. Especially for someone who plays so little.
I genuinely don’t know what we should do if we win the toss. The final shouldn't be affected by the weather and I firmly believe in scoreboard pressure in a final. But Somerset love to chase. Difficult one.
I would honestly let Lynn decide (if we win the toss). Does he feel up to going almost straight back out there, or would he prefer a bit of time in the field first? We're relying so heavily on him and Albert.
I think I'd bowl first as Somerset always seem to pull off run chases. I'm not holding out much hope, but you never know! We can't rely on one batter, i.e. Lynn, to do all the work again.
Lewis chooses to chase, and why not? It’s worked often enough this season. A good start would be to get Lynn out in the PP!
