I can't recall seeing a match being played when the outfield is this wet.

I do feel a little uneasy that the game has been allowed to go ahead, but at the end of the day it's the same for both teams.

I'm assuming the alternative was calling the game off and Surrey going through? Either way the forecast for Durham on Friday is good so thankfully we won't have any such concerns.

There are reserve days for the QFs. Failing that, an indoor bowl-out.

1 up to the north

Hopefully the Hawks can make it 1-1 Friday and Spitfires and Somerset smash it Saturday, though am not confident Kent can do it in what has been a pretty poor season all round.

Abbott has extended his contract to the end of next season. Excellent news as he's still performing at a very high level.

I'm going to imagine it will be one of Wheal or Jack and one of Orr or Mayes - the other 9 places in the team are spoken for. Prest not in the squad at all.

It's a tough call on both places but i'd probably go Orr and Wheal although the younger lads have proved that they wouldn't let us down if selected.
I'm hoping for Mayes and Wheal. I think Mayes has done enough and he's got the shots for T20 cricket.
