Middlesex hit by ECB sanction for breaches of financial regulations - BBC Sport

If Middlesex somehow survive in the top division, the decision not to dock them points now will reek of double standards. Durham were also in breach of financial irregularities yet were docked points immediately. I think there could well be a clamour for the points deduction to be applied now. Hampshire docked points for supposedly having a dodgy pitch, immediately. Somerset docked points that were applied at the beginning of the following season. So why not Middlesex? As it stands the club are in a financial mess so could lose a number of their higher paid stars. De Cairies anyone? Robson and Simpson are more than useful, Higgins? I am also thinking, could they revert to playing in the Minor Counties League?

That is so gutting for Leicester. Not just because of the size of the chase, but also because of what it would have done for their promotion chances.

Realistically that is now Northants relegated. Which is a shame, because they've been a great source of points for us over the past two seasons!

I get that they were desperate when it came to their negotiations with Warks. But to accept giving them 176 off 60 overs always seemed like a mistake. That said, they did drop Burgess at least twice and bowled a substantial 42 balls at OHD.

Interesting that Fuller is in the squad tomorrow. I wonder if maybe Holland has a little niggle or something, and they want Fuller as cover just in case. I can't see us choosing to drop someone in favour of Fuller, given that we choose to not select him in the SF.

So Hampshire are playing in the one day cup final tomorrow in Nottingham. I seriously considered going, so much so that I looked at the seating map to see what tickets were available. Then I looked up train times...

Didn't realize Nottingham took so long to get to! But I'm not sure I fancy a 6ish hour round journey, as much as Hampshire is wonderful... I'll be there in spirit
