Now for the tricky bit and batting. Conditions very similar to yesterday morning so going to be tricky.
 
The added problem we've faced today, as compared to Yorks yesterday, is how water-logged the outfield is now. Even when we have managed to get the ball away today, so often we've only got 2 or 3 rather than the full 4.

I wasn't convinced about Gubbins' LBW, but I won't complain because I thought Joe was stone dead when he was only on 3.
 
I still reckon that we gave up on Tom Alsop too early, he's making good runs at Sussex and was decent enough the times that he opened for us.

I'm with you about us letting him go too early. But I wouldn't be reading anything into his red ball runs for Sussex. Impressive t20 runs, but many a batter can score red ball runs in D2.
