What's happened to the deadly Chelmsford pitch?, Harmer has only taken one wicket in 23 overs, wish we had played on that one.
The pitch at Scarborough seems to have flattened out a bit. But I still don't us to be chasing much more than 150.
I like that Spirit have looked at us and decided that an attack of Ellis-Wood-Wheal-Crane-Dawson is worthwhile (although no doubt Dimi, and Warney before him, had a big say). Model yourself on the best! I'm sure it'll be a little weird for Vince though, when he comes out to bat against them! (Not to mention Weatherley/Whiteley/Fuller.)
It would be quite nice, actually, if we waited until there were only a couple of overs left tonight to take this last wicket, as long as they only add a few further singles in that time. I don't fancy us having to face 4 or 5 overs tonight, we're bound to lose at least 1 wicket in that time.
This pitch really has flattened out. Once the ball softens/gets older it's not difficult to bat on. A 200 run chase really shouldn't be beyond us.
Weather looks good at Scarborough tomorrow so every chance of a Hants win. Warks holding Surrey to a draw would be a bit of a gift too.
So, do we want a continuation of Warwickshire's stout defence/lead building, and/or rain at The Oval, or for Surrey to be drawn into a run-chase, resulting in loss of wickets (although probably not enough for Warwickshire to win)
I'd rather it was a boring draw, I don't think there's much chance of Warwickshire forcing a win (unfortunately). However, it will only be a gain of about 6 points I think on Surrey as they got a couple more bonus points than us I think.
