Go Kyle! TBF can't criticise the way we've come out this morning. Trying to block would just result in 110-120 all out.

You could tell from their reactions that Brown and Donald got bad decisions. Vince, Barker, Fuller and Abbott all threw their wickets away - but in understandable circumstances, in trying to score whatever they can as quickly as they can. Gubbins and Dawson got good ones.

Without Snater's knock we'd be right in this game. Crane bowling at the tail would have meant we would have been at about par with Essex IMO.

Vincey will have to play more responsibly next innings.

Given the need to attack on this pitch, it makes it more annoying that we left out Weatherley. It's difficult to see Organ or Holland playing aggressively in the fourth innings - and even more difficult to see them grinding out a long innings - and hence most likely they'll again fall early. Whereas Weatherley might have able to unfurl a handful of his slog sweeps and maybe made a quick fire 35 off 20.

Not that it be relevant though if Essex go and make, say, 190. (I do agree that anything in excess of 150 will look near-impossible, and anything in excess of 100 will look very difficult.)

Organ can't get his line right to Browne. It isn't costing us runs, fortunately.

Big wicket right on the stroke of lunch.

I suppose. But I think we needed them about five down by now. To effectively be 120-3 on this wicket is a great position to be in. It's a reasonable position to be in on most wickets, let alone a minefield.

There's two things that are making me think we're still in this: our long batting line up and the fact that Lawrence went for 40 odd off his 4 overs this morning. Obviously Harmer will open the bowling from one end and just keep bowling but there will be runs to be had off the bowling at the other end. If we can keep the target under 200 I think it's possible to chase it.
