Abbott hasn't got the ability to block Harmer out really. Better to try and hit him out of the park TBH.No Kyle, you block Harmer and have a wild swing at whoever's bowling at the other end, try to grab an extra 10-15 runs![]()
Hmm, I'd say 100 at the most.I'd say we need to bowl Essex out for 125-150 to stand any sort of chance.
To give us a decent shot yes, but I'd say we'd have a little sniff if the target was 200 or so. We bat deep and the boundaries are quite small.Hmm, I'd say 100 at the most.
You could tell from their reactions that Brown and Donald got bad decisions. Vince, Barker, Fuller and Abbott all threw their wickets away - but in understandable circumstances, in trying to score whatever they can as quickly as they can. Gubbins and Dawson got good ones.
Big wicket right on the stroke of lunch.
There's two things that are making me think we're still in this: our long batting line up and the fact that Lawrence went for 40 odd off his 4 overs this morning. Obviously Harmer will open the bowling from one end and just keep bowling but there will be runs to be had off the bowling at the other end. If we can keep the target under 200 I think it's possible to chase it.I suppose. But I think we needed them about five down by now. To effectively be 120-3 on this wicket is a great position to be in. It's a reasonable position to be in on most wickets, let alone a minefield.
