I agree, but you still have to play each ball on its merits. Bairstow in particular played what he imagined the ball would do, not what it actually did. Losing 2 wickets in the first over is just crazy, and every incoming batsman just expects to be beaten.As much as you admire Indian cricket, the fact they can't create a wicket which has a chance of playing for 3 days here for an important day night test match is pretty awful. A good pitch should be a delicate balance between ball and bat but this is ball all day long.

As I say, though, I completely agree about the wicket. This is halfway through day 2 for crying out loud, and it’s playing like Taunton on day 4 or 5.
