Something tells me that Middlesex's tail might take a leaf out of England's book from here. Hopefully with less success.

The sad thing is that even with his wickets this summer, coupled with an innings like this, there will still be people - including on here, no doubt - who wouldn't have Woakes in their best XI (in England). The general consensus in the media, for example, seemed to be if Stokes was fit to bowl in this game, it should be Woakes to make way for Crawley.
 
I could very quickly fall in love with Walallawita's tail end batting if that's how he plays every ball. His first ball in first class cricket...

I'll happily take 252 against that line-up. In a way, the runs were scored by the wrong people, but overall 252 is a decent effort by our under par attack.

The (very, very) big concern is what comes next.

I would really like to think that. But too many people just don't rate him enough. In home conditions, he should be a guaranteed selection alongside the likes of Stokes and Broad.
