Is it about time that cricket updated it’s rules to allow subs to bat and/or bowl?
England started really well and, initially, didn’t seem to miss Anderson, but they clearly did as the innings unfolded.
Could be the difference between England starting the series with a win or maybe even a defeat.
It’s kind of like saying that a sub in football isn’t allowed to score a goal, set up a goal scoring opportunity or clear a shot off the line, but he is allowed to run around and tackle.
 
Needed those two wickets badly.

Without Ravi, Essex do look a little light on batting after these two - but both of these guys are capable of going big.
 
This is Chelmsford though, so we'll still find a way to lose from here. But I can enjoy this whilst it lasts.
