It occurs to me that England could do with an experienced spinner that can also score some runs, pity there aren't any around at the moment...
Joe Root playing as our main spinner. Tick. Just a shame that we didn't select Woakes as part our seam attack. That would have been the second tick. No-one in the history of the test cricket (English or otherwise) has a better bowling average at Lords than Woakes (minimum of 20 wickets). *He should be playing at any ground in England, but Lords especially.
I reckon those idiots at Lords today did their cause more harm than good, that goes for those stupid protesters as well...
The irony is that cricket is the sport most likely to be affected by global warming. I get the annoyance but no one is listening to the issue. I can see the argument on both sides in this one.
I am in no doubt that the cause is a legitimate one, the problem is that they have fallen in to the old trap of of resorting to law breaking and a disrespect for humanity, they get labelled as a bunch of nutjobs who need locking up and their cause gets lost as it has lost its credibility. Attention seeking needs to be done intelligently. There are many better ways to put the case. That's how I perceive it, it's not a gospel.
