That was some performance to chase down 370 for the loss.of only 3 wickets. I was expecting Middlesex to.succumb to.Robinson as they have done in the past. Two important signings - Stoneman and Afridi have helped the team look a lot better..

Now Wheal joins Gloucs on loan for a couple of weeks. Goodness, there's going to be nobody left in reserve at this rate!

I'm much happier with squad members getting temporary game time in the first XI of another county, than in our 2nd XI. We can easily recall them if needed.

And in Wheal's case, it's only for one game. Gloucs don't play next week.

I think McCullum is a risk, but a seriously exciting risk. It might work, it might not work, but I'm totally behind it. It could be a genius appointment.

In terms of what an international coach needs to provide, he ticks way more boxes than Silverwood ever did (who ticks boxes for what a county coach needs to provide).

Surrey do look a heck of a good side.

Their batting looks one of the best I can remember in D1 (quality and depth). And with so many seamers on their books, they can easily rotate them to keep them fresh.

And they're missing Roy, Jordan and Tom Curran (albeit all are better white ball players).

From our point of view, it's fortunate that we don't have to play them again. (Somerset, Gloucs, Warks, Kent and Yorks are the sides we play twice. Not Surrey, Lancs, Essex or Northants.)

Just 3 more wickets tonight and Somerset will have their second consecutive innings victory within 3 days. Wouldn’t have expected that after our abysmal start!

Looks like two nailed on draws, and one possible draw (especially if rain intervenes), in the three matches today. Which would suit us perfectly.

Archer out for the entire season again so Brave will have to make do without him again.

Bloody hell the pitch is almost as green as the bloody grass! Happy Somerset chose to bat TBH.
