I'm not expecting Amir to hang around long. But Dale and Warner have already frustrated us once in this match. And there was last season too...
Excellent round for us. I was always expecting Surrey to beat Northants - it would have been a shock if they hadn't. But the other 2 games ending in draws (which they will) is excellent news.
Again, all we have done is to win a game which we should be winning. That's three out of three now on that front. But you can't do anything more than to beat your opponent. If we continue to beat all the teams who we should be beating, and then start adding victories against the better sides, we'll be right in the mix for the title.
Middlesex's run chase is looking tasty (Although I imagine it'll fizzle out at some point. They'll only risk a small number of wickets I expect.)
If only if hadn't rained last Sunday. No guarantees but I would have fancied us taking 10 wickets in overcast conditions. Oh well, week off now and then a trip to Taunton. Will become a Kent fan for a week.
I'm not sure Mason will have endeared himself to the Sussex fans, with that fourth day bowling effort. As I've said before, he's great at bowling out the tail. But pretty average against top order batters.
We're the only side with three batters in the D1 top 10 run scorers: Gubbins (5th), Brown (8th) and Vince (9th). Yorkshire and Kent both have two. And only Hasan Ali has more wickets than Abbas (2nd) and Barker (3rd).
