Fortunately Vince's absence hasn't impacted us at all. That could have gone a whole lot worse for us.
On another ground, absolutely. But, regardless of conditions and circumstances, it still takes a brave captain to elect to bowl first at the Bowl. It's a bat-first-9-times-out-of-10 ground. Very good toss to lose.
True, but the pitch was very green this morning. Those 2 hours were optimum bowling conditions. Hants did bowl very well to be fair but by batting first you have to have faith that your batsmen will tough it out in those 2 hours. And let's be honest, the Somerset top order is the last set of batsmen you'd bet on doing that.
I was pleasantly surprised when I came in yesterday and saw that our openers had recorded a ton partnership. Is this finally the coming of age for Weatherley in red ball cricket?, I certainly hope so as having a reliable pair of openers would be the final piece of the Hants jigsaw.
Yes, Jamo was saying that he's a very popular member of the squad and that he spent the winter working on his red ball technique. Well played Joe. Hope that the middle order really cash in now and we get full batting points.
His figures might look pretty awful, but I'd say Abell has been their second best bowler after Siddle. He's one of those county players who I would absolutely love to see in a Hampshire shirt.
