The commentators did say that the floodlights at that ground weren't great. And it seemed to impact Livingstone the most, even before he damaged his finger. Fortunately the ground isn't being used for the world cup itself. But nevertheless, if dodgy floodlights end up costing us Livingstone's availability...
England going really well. Watching with one eye on this and one on the Saints. Windies 49-7 off 12 overs.
All four seeded sides in group B will presumably beat Scotland and Namibia (assuming no rain), so you almost have to treat it as a four team group with everyone playing three matches. So given that, India are now one defeat away from going home. Good luck finishing 2nd from those 4, with a 1-2 win-loss record. It would need to be a 2-1 record. And even then they might go out on NRR.
That's a serious statement sent out by Pakistan. They've definitely got the talent to win the whole thing.
I'm not sure Afghanistan should be competing in the World Cup TBH. The players have done nothing wrong but it's hard to look past the fact the country is being run by a bunch of ****s who recently executed a female volleyball player.
It'll be interesting if very shortly after the competition, Afghanistan formally ban their national women's team. Having a national women's team is a condition of ICC membership. To my knowledge, they officially do still have a women's team, but it does sound like they want rid of it - and possibly they're just waiting to do until after the World t20, in order to allow their men to play. I think Australia have already pulled a test match vs Afghanistan next month, possibly in expectation that Afghanistan will lose their ICC status before then. Anyway, this Scottish display (bat and ball) just makes their win vs Bangladesh even more unbelievable.
Surprised no one has commented on De Kocks withdrawal from today’s game. Bit of a mess if you ask me. Will be interesting to see if he makes a further statement to clarify his personal position. Ps. Mods, if on wrong page, pls move / delete
Tom Scriven has followed Ajeet Dale (along with Stevenson & Taylor) out the exit door by signing for Leics. Hopefully some funds are being freed up here for a big new signing for next season?!!
England's RR now 3.6! They will beat Sri Lanka and should need to beat only 1 of SA and Australia to progress.
I find it interesting that Cook still hasn't signed a new deal with Essex after becoming a free agent a month or so ago. I still think it's likely he will but as he's now a free agent I very much hope we've made contact with him. I would imagine we could offer more money than Essex but obviously he may well favour remaining settled rather than move for a pay rise.
