Thought I’d come up tonight; wishing for a bit/lot of luck. Can’t even get out of bar with this downpour!
Glamorgan's last ball win vs Surrey has given us the slimmest of slim chances. But we have to beat Surrey ourselves tomorrow. And then win our other five after that. Not going to happen.
Approximately 22 months after I last set foot inside the Bowl, thank god that comes to an end tonight.
I think it's a mistake to have Vince captain in all formats. I would have Wood as T20 captain and Vince 4 day captain just to ease the burden on Vince.
In a different time, the crowd reaction to the likes of Prest, Weatherley and McManus would have been very different. But with a smaller crowd, with massively lowered expectations due to previous form (this year and the last three or four years) and a general feeling of just being happy to be back at an evening game at last, there wasn't really any negative reaction. Sarcastic cheers when we hit our only two non-powerplay boundaries, but otherwise just a general acceptance that we only have three batsmen who are good enough to take the field.
Somerset in the top 4, a point off the top with a game in hand after beating Gloucestershire in Bristol.
Northeast has left, and joined Yorkshire. Sounds like he was annoyed at being dropped from the t20 team. Which I can completely understand, when you look at the people being picked ahead of him.
When you consider that he is our second best four day batsmen, and was due to captain our 50 over side (on top of being one of the few top batters in the country to be available to play in the competition), it's a huge blow.
