Umpires have cost us the game with some really **** calls. Should have had at least 3 or 4 extra runs and balls that weren't called. ****s.
I wasn't a million miles off from saying they had 15 too many for us. Nothing to do with what par was. Purely to do with our limited batting resources.
That is quite a comeback, I am amazed we won that. So brave by Lewis Gregory to bowl the last over after being carted around, but he did the job.
Northeast chews up balls, but at least he has history of being able to go big later on if he's still in. Trying to finish an innings with Lewis and Weatherley, when our tail starts at 8, isn't going to win many matches. Banton could have dispensed of his gloves and bowled those last few overs.
Harsh on the kid maybe, but he probably needs to be the one to drop out. If we're going to bat CDG at no.4 - and today suggests that's a good idea - then we need to push Weatherley up the order rather than down. He's scored enough t20 runs for us in the past 12 months to deserve to keep his place (for now), but not as a finisher. I still hate Benkenstein for sacking off Wheater and leaving us with only Lewis and Alsop.
Same place as Holland, Northeast, Barker and Abbott probably. Still, enjoying a pizza at home with your feet up is probably better than Dawson's endless life of carrying England drinks.
Hampshire trying their best to depose Middlesex as champions of mediocrity, albeit in T20 whereas with the latter it is all round.
I was really hoping Hants would win last night just to put a bit of spice on their forthcoming home games. I’ve got a rollover Blast 6x ticket from last year & was hoping for a bit of excitement. All gone now. Will just be a “watch, beer & feet-up” experience.
The series is won. We're at his home ground. There's a t20 WC coming up where spinners could be very important. And still Dawson is carrying the drinks.
