Root and Stokes digging us out of a hole (as usual). Both have been dropped. If West Indies had held onto those two catches England would be in trouble.
Word is that Carberry's loan move to Leicester is with a view to being made their captain next season. Had it not been for his return to us for Finals Day next weekend, the loan would - apparently - effectively be a permanent transfer. I assume that we told him that even in McManus' absence (and Rilee further down the order), we weren't intending to recall him to the side alongside Jimmy. (Although it potentially leaves us very short vs Middlesex in a few weeks, unless Bailey doesn't end up playing in the World XI t20s)
Well I guess we probably had to face Notts at some point if we were to win. But when you think they still have Broad to come in (for Billy Root?), they are some team.
I honestly think Notts is a good draw for us. In the past, we've stumbled against teams we should have beaten. And also, Hales and Wessels like pace on the ball. I fancy our bowling attack.
Just got back in and hoped that the early wicket last night heralded a skittling....well you know what hope does.
